🌿3  Everyday Herbs That Can Replace Your Medicine Cabinet

Herbs

Has there ever been a time when you opened your medicine cabinet and thought to yourself - "I wish there was a more natural way to stay healthy?" I have been there! A few years ago I relied on a pill for every little thing that bothered me - headache, cold, stomachache. Then I took the plunge to start using more herbs and quickly figured out that nature has given us everything we need to heal.

Today, I am going to share with you 3 regular herbs that you can use to replace many of the pills you have in your cabinet. They are effective, easy to use, and most of the time right in your kitchen!

🌱 1. Tulsi (Holy Basil) – The Ultimate Protector

In most Indian homes, there is a Tulsi plant growing next to the window – and for good reason! Tulsi is also well-known as the "Queen of Herbs," useful for coughs, colds, and stress, along with immunity when recovering.

Whenever I feel the signs of a sore throat, I will just boil a few leaves of Tulsi in water with honey. It works wonders!

Tip: Drink Tulsi tea in the day to strengthen the lungs and reduce stress naturally.

🌾 2. Turmeric – The Golden Healer

Health

This bright yellow spice in addition to being a part of all curries is well documented for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Drinking warm turmeric milk before bedtime has the potential to ease pain, fight infections and improve skin health.

Try this: Turmeric absorbs more effectively when combined with a pinch of black pepper.

🍃 3. Mint – The Cooling Healer

Herb

The refreshing herb mint (Pudina) cools your body while soothing any stomach ailments. Mint is also great for bad breath and headaches.

DIY Remedy: Crush mint leaves and combine with honey for a digestive aid you can have after meals.

🌸 Conclusion

The awesome part is that these herbs are natural, inexpensive and safe when used appropriately.

You don't need to have anything fancy - the majority of them are already in your kitchen or backyard.

By adding these herbs into your life gradually, you can reduce your reliance on synthetic drugs and and gradually make the move towards a more healthier, natural way of living.

Obviously, if you have a serious health problem always check in with your doctor - but for everyday wellness, let nature do its thing. 🌿
